The Nyack Ambassadors will provide hospitality and public assistance on the downtown streets of Nyack: answering questions, giving directions, explaining the parking meters, and generally providing "eyes and ears" on the street. The Ambassadors work in teams of two, patrolling the streets at high-traffic times.
The Ambassadors are mostly teenagers in the later years of high school or college, who will be employed through a grant by the Village to the Nyack Center, which will manage the program and provide training and ongoing oversight. Other Ambassadors might be volunteers of any age who want to take shifts to help make the Nyack downtown more friendly and welcoming.
If you or someone you know would like to apply to be an ambassador, just fill out the form in the link below. We are looking for young people who want a summer job, or volunteers of any age who want to help make a difference in our community.
